Position Summary

Perform/ supervise all electrical maintenance and operations activities and overhaul for all plant Electrical equipment during normal operations and Turnaround / Shutdowns according to company RC policies and procedures to improve the reliability of plant assets and equipment and meet maintenance targets and KPI’s.

Position Responsibilities

Maintain plant production, efficiency, reliability and safe operation
  • Develop and review with Electrical Supervisor the electrical assets maintenance strategy, programs, directions and procedures in compliance with Equipment Original Manufacture (EOM) recommendations, codes and standards, and best practices to ensure effective maintenance activities and optimum asset life cycle cost.
  • Develop, review, and Implement with discipline supervisor action plans, and implement maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, predictive, Inspection, and Performance Monitoring) – safely and efficiently to meet company and maintenance department targets and KPI’s and emphasize effective resources consumption/utilization to secure optimum Maintenance cost.
  • Safely and accurately perform electrical operations duties such as isolation/deisolation, maneuvering of electrical assets, respond to ENMCS alarms.
  • Correctly manage and report all maintenance activities and assets data/records through company CMMS (MAXIMO) to keep continuous and valid records for all assets.
  • Troubleshoot, and Locate equipment faults and operating irregularities by making the necessary diagnostic tests, measurements and analyses, and plan toward remedy.
  • Perform and participate in electrical equipment and systems risk assessments (RCA, HAZOP, Hazard Identification, etc..) and apply the appropriate mitigations to avoid any potential hazard
  • Utilize incident management system (IMS) with TapRoot technique to effectively investigate discipline equipment incidents through being an investigator or investigator leader.
  • Managing spare parts purchasing routing and developing and reviewing inventory list of Electrical required assets and equipment spares, consumables, lubricants, etc.., ensuring keeping an optimum min/max level to satisfy plant’s safe operating targets, while optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Strong liaison with the Project and Turnaround Team for having an effective and comprehensive strategy and plans for the planning, development and execution of the identified electrical maintenance works of the plant turnarounds.
  • Perform detailed analysis of historical reliability data and through the identification of equipment vulnerabilities, to ensure plant vulnerability and reliability issues are addressed, investigated, and effective action plans are developed.
  • Use Management of Change System (MOC) in all electrical activities improvements and modifications.
  • Participation in the discipline training program delivered to the contractor staff (Engineers and Technicians), and graduates to enhance their capabilities and awareness of site, process and equipment.
  • Ensure contractor/service providers are aware of the Responsible Care requirements including attending safety programs, using the correct gears and tools, following company’s procedures, and awareness of high-risk activities and mitigations to enhance safety performance, minimize incidents and ensure safe work environment.

  • Experience/knowledge
    •  At least 4 years’ experience in the area of Electrical in Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Plants.
    • Proven experience in Electrical Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Working experience of Electrical Equipment maintenance/operations as well as reliability applicable concepts.
    • Knowledge of Electrical Equipment maintenance strategies and Engineering Standards.
    • Working Knowledge of TapRoot techniques.
    • Ability to complete Incident reporting on KMI, and Word and Excel.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation of steam turbo-generators.
    • Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation of electrical substations and switchgears.
    • Excellent knowledge of work permit systems requirements.
    • Preferred to have basic working knowledge of Business Management and CMMS software.
    • Prefer to be familiar with electrical engineering software.
  • Education/Training
    • B.Sc. Electrical Engineering (Power and Machines).
    • CompEx certificate is preferred.
  • Skills/other requirements
    • Very good command of English skills.
    • Intermediate PC and Microsoft Office skills, including ability to use MS Office and incident reporting software.
    • Ability to prepare and present written Material i.e., Project planning, work packs, work plans.
    • Self-motivated and has high analytical capabilities.
    • Team player with multi-cultural exposure, strong ownership & safety commitment.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to develop plans and actions.
