What position will you have?
As the Commercial Director, you’ll lead the commercial strategy for the EU region and collaborate with the Global Commercial Leadership Team (GCLT) on the Global M&L Commercial Strategy and 3-year Sales Plan.
In conjunction with other regional Commercial Directors as part of GCLT, you will lead, manage and execute on global commercial initiatives ensuring successful global and regional rollout.
Managing both the regional commercial team, you’ll focus on creating value in the EU sales portfolio, identifying market opportunities, and implementing optimal pricing strategies.
As a member of the Regional Leadership Team in Europe, you’ll contribute to the development, monitoring and execution of the EU Strategy, emphasizing the regional business plan, organizational Culture, People/Talent Management, RC and Compliance, and other key strategic objectives.
Position Responsibilities
What will you actually do?
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Recommend and implement Methanex’s global commercial strategy in collaboration with regional directors to achieve growth and leadership following GMLT endorsement.
- Co-lead global commercial priorities, focusing on development opportunities for sales and marketing resources.
- Sponsor team dynamics that generate unique global market value generation opportunities, defining key performance indicators, developing communication protocols and supporting Global Account Teams in strategy and negotiations.
- Lead the definition and implementation of Europe’s commercial strategy to contribute to the global commercial strategy, maximizing the value of our regional sales portfolio.
- Direct the EU Sales Team to maximize the value proposition, ensuring premium valuation against alternatives. Manage regional sales plans, leveraging existing positions for expansions and sales development.
- Manage customer relationships through leading marketing initiatives, define pricing targets, and lead continuous improvement on pricing strategy for increased customer participation in the region.
- Lead the European office together with the other members of the leadership team, focusing on collective success and strategic objectives in People & Culture, RC & Compliance, Strategy, and business execution.
- Lead, inspire and develop your team ensuring operational excellence, leadership in regional commercial strategies, and talent retention and succession planning.
- Act as a sponsor for committees defined by the LTE as part of the regional operating model.
- Ensure RC & Company values are embraced through all phases of our commercial relationships.
- Support (including active participation) office EDI commitments and Social Responsibility initiatives.
Position Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
Your experience and hard skills
- University degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field, or equivalent by experience. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant commercial experience
- Strong business acumen
- Fluency in English and in at least one of French, German or Spanish are required. Other European languages are considered an asset.
