Welcoming New Team Members to MethanexThrough the OCI acquisition, we added approximately 250 new team members across four locations to our workforce. We recognise that transitions can be challenging and may cause anxiety for new employees. To help ease the transition and make team members feel welcome, we distributed two toolkits— one for managers and one for employees— covering onboarding processes, pay and benefits, and details of our strategy and commitment to Responsible Care. Managers also received guidance on addressing common employee questions and tips for supporting their teams throughout the transition.

We engage regularly with employees through surveys and feedback to strengthen our culture, support skills development, and improve communication. Our approach to learning emphasizes on‑the‑job experience, coaching and mentoring, and formal training, supported by competency assurance, leadership development, and succession planning programs.
We are committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace. Through inclusive recruitment practices, training, and employee resource groups, we work to build awareness, encourage learning, and support a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.
Communities and Indigenous engagement
We strive to be a responsible corporate citizen and a good neighbour in the communities where we operate. Through open, two‑way communication and collaboration, we work to understand local priorities, address concerns, and build lasting relationships.

Respectful engagement with Indigenous communities is a key part of this commitment. In New Zealand and Canada, we focus on building relationships that recognize Indigenous rights, culture, and traditional lands. This includes formal agreements, reconciliation action plans, and ongoing dialogue grounded in respect and partnership.
We engage with communities through Community Advisory Panels, local events, emergency response collaboration, and Indigenous engagement initiatives. Our community investments are guided by three focus areas aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, supporting positive and long‑term outcomes in the regions where we operate.
