Methanex Announces Sale of US$300 Million 10-Year Notes and US$300 Million 30-Year Notes

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(Marketwired – Nov. 13, 2014) – Methanex Corporation (TSX:MX)(NASDAQ:MEOH) announced today that it has priced two offerings of senior unsecured notes. Methanex will issue US$300 million in aggregate principal amount of 4.25% senior notes due December 1, 2024 and US$300 million in aggregate principal amount of 5.65% senior notes due December 1, 2044. The 2024 notes were issued at a price of 99.497% of the aggregate principal amount, with an effective yield to maturity of 4.312%, and the 2044 notes were issued at a price of 99.353% of the aggregate principal amount, with an effective yield to maturity of 5.695%. The offerings are expected to close on or about November 18, 2014, subject to customary closing conditions.

Methanex expects to use the net proceeds from the offerings primarily for the repayment of existing indebtedness, which may include the repayment of its 6.00% senior notes due August 1, 2015 of which US$150 million is outstanding, repayment of limited recourse debt facilities, capital expenditures related to plants under construction, capital expenditures related to maintenance of its facilities and working capital purposes.
