Our programs for hiring students and new graduates help young people develop their talents and expertise while making meaningful contributions to our business.
Methanex hires undergraduate and graduate students as part of our strategy to develop the skills of younger employees with multidisciplinary capabilities and leadership potential. Methanex provides different project and internship opportunities each year, depending on our business needs. These programs allow students to deepen their knowledge and gain relevant experience that relates to their studies.
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student who would like to be considered for an employment opportunity at Methanex, you must:
- be currently enrolled at a college or university in a relevant program,
- be available for a period of approximately one to four months, depending on the opportunity,
- be interested in the petrochemical industry and
- demonstrate our Core Values of trust, respect, integrity and professionalism.
Our Graduate in Training Program fosters the leadership development and growth potential of engineering graduates, enabling them to develop their technical, commercial and interpersonal skills through on-the-job training, individual learning, and hands-on experience in multiple roles throughout the organization.
Over a two-year period, our Graduates in Training gain the experience of working in key functional areas across Methanex, building their core engineering skills and deepening their knowledge and understanding of the methanol business.
To be considered for Methanex’s Graduate in Training Program, you must have graduated from university within the past two years with a degree in the engineering streams of:
- Process/Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrument Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- HSE/PSM Engineering
While we don’t require you to have any formal workplace experience, you must provide us with examples of how you have demonstrated our Core Values of trust, respect, integrity and professionalism.
