Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager, Transfer Pricing and works closely with the Senior Financial and Tax Analysts, regional finance teams and other stakeholders to prepare and analyze information related to global projects. Key responsibilities include supporting the Manager, Transfer Pricing and Manager, Global Taxation in meeting annual compliance obligations at both the consolidated and country level and performing analyses to plan and implement global projects.

The Senior Financial Analyst requires strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand and analyze complex arrangements and distill and streamline this information for presentation to senior leadership and committees to feed into major business decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst also requires strong project management skills to coordinate and deliver multiple workstreams on time and to a high standard.

The expected hiring salary range for this position is CAD $109,000 – $133,000.  The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies and will consider internal equity.

Position Responsibilities

Analysis for compliance

  • Assist with annual transfer pricing compliance obligations and maintenance of the Group’s intercompany agreements database.
  • Assist in preparing detailed quarterly analysis of tax and transfer pricing results for meetings and senior leadership.
  • Perform calculations to support intercompany service charges and transfer pricing adjustments.
  • Assist with the implementation of pricing and documentation for new intercompany transactions.

Analysis for planning / special projects

  • Provide tax / transfer pricing support for business integration projects.
  • Assist in preparing audit defence material for tax and transfer pricing.
  • Provide support in researching, modelling and implementing tax/transfer pricing planning strategies to respond to changes in law and/or changes in the business.
  • Support the negotiation of and preparation of materials for new tax and transfer pricing rulings with tax authorities.
  • Assist with financial analyses to support other finance or corporate initiatives as required.

Position Qualifications

Education and/or Professional Designation

  • University degree in Business and/or Finance (Commerce/Accounting)
  • Accounting designation

Experience and Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • 5+ years of post-designation accounting and/or industry experience
  • Strong global reporting and accounting knowledge
  • Strong financial accounting knowledge
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Knowledge of tax and transfer pricing, preferred but not required
  • Exposure to public company disclosure and reporting
  • Experience with ERP/Integrated accounting systems (Oracle experience is an asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills
