Position Summary
As a Procurement Graduate at Methanex Egypt, you will participate in a structured development program aimed at building your knowledge in procurement and contracting processes. Through hands-on experience, training, and mentorship, you will develop a solid foundation in procurement operations, contract management, supplier engagement, and commercial practices.
You will work alongside a team of experienced professionals and be exposed to various procurement-related functions that are essential for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with Methanex’s standards and procedures.
Position Responsibilities
- Understand end-to-end procurement workflows, from requisition to purchase order and delivery.
- Learn about international trade terms, freight responsibilities, and shipping logistics.
- Gain insight into customs regulations and clearance process.
- Understand how payment conditions are structured and processed within procurement and finance systems.
- Learn how materials are stored, managed, and controlled in coordination with inventory and warehouse team.
- Understand different contract structures (e.g., service contracts, purchase agreements, purchase orders).
- Participate in supplier meetings and support the negotiation of contract/ purchase orders terms and conditions.
- Develop a basic understanding of legal clauses as well as commercial terms and conditions commonly used in procurement and contracting.
- Learn how claims are managed, and disputes are resolved in a structured and professional manner.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Engineering, Accounting, Economics, etc.)
- Graduation year: 2023 or later
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Fluent command of English skills.
- A growth mindset and willingness to accept feedback.
- Good observation skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Team player with multi-cultural exposure, strong ownership & safety commitment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office & Presentations skills.
