Position Summary
As a Mechanical Maintenance Graduate, you will be part of a structured development program focused on building your technical and practical skills in equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability. Through on-the-job training, mentoring, and hands-on project experience, you will gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges while working alongside experienced professionals. A dedicated Mentor or Supervisor will support your personal and professional growth throughout the program.
Position Responsibilities
- Actively participate in job shadowing, field inspections, and hands-on training under the guidance of senior team members and supervisors.
- Learn and apply mechanical maintenance best practices in alignment with Methanex’s policies and international standards.
- Act as field supervisor, supervising all activities taking place on site during shift.
- Participate in the planning, preparation, and safe execution of mechanical maintenance work during normal operations, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
- Support equipment troubleshooting efforts and contribute to the identification of root causes for mechanical failures.
- Assist in monitoring mechanical performance indicators and maintenance KPIs.
- Contribute to improving maintenance strategies, identifying opportunities for optimization and reliability enhancements.
- Gain exposure to various tools, software, and techniques used for analyzing mechanical system performance and maintenance trends.
- Contribute to the execution and documentation of preventive maintenance (PM) plans and corrective maintenance tasks in line with CMMS.
- Assist with data analysis, KPI tracking, and reporting to support continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
- Demonstrate full compliance with Methanex’s HSE standards and Responsible Care principles during all work activities.
- Engage in safety reviews, risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and pre-job safety briefings.
- Prepare reports, logs, and presentations on learning outcomes, work progress, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations and Engineering to support integrated maintenance efforts.
- Keep accurate records of field activities, learning experiences, and personal development milestones.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.
- Previous work experience in a technical field is not necessary but would be an advantage.
- Graduation year: 2023 or later
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Superb time management and professionalism.
- A growth mindset and willingness to accept feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good observation skills and willingness to learn.
- Very good command of English skills.
- Team player with multi-cultural exposure, strong ownership & safety commitment.
