Position Summary

As a Finance Graduate, you will get exposed to different scopes within the Finance team, reinforced by a rotation plan. You will also receive on-the-job training, with opportunities to develop wider technical, financial and analytical skills by working alongside a team of experienced professionals.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide key decision-makers with accurate and timely financial data and insights to support business planning and operations.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Record daily and monthly journal entries with complete supporting documentation to ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing account reconciliations, monitoring accruals, and maintaining prepayment schedules.
  • Assist the Treasury team in maintaining debt schedules and interest calculations, ensuring the accuracy of cash flow forecasting and debt service planning.
  • Collaborate with the Cost Accounting team to understand Methanex’s costing methodology and support allocation of operational costs.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the Gas Purchase Agreement and its impact on financial planning and cost analysis.
  • Maintain the fixed assets accuracy by recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation in line with accounting standards, and support periodic physical verification and compliance with capitalization guidelines.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and supporting compliance reviews.
  • Participate in financial analysis projects and assist in the development of budget and forecast models as needed.
  • Ensure all financial activities are performed in accordance with internal controls and corporate governance requirements.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a finance major or an accounting degree
  • Previous work experience is not necessary but would be an advantage.
  • Graduation year: 2023 or later
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Superb time management and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good observation skills and willingness to learn.
  • Very good command of English skills.
  • Team player with multi-cultural exposure, strong ownership & safety commitment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to develop plans and actions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office & Presentation skills.
