Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, we’re seeking an HRIS Analyst (Workday & Analytics) to join our Vancouver office. You’ll play a key role in shaping how Methanex uses HR systems and data to support our global workforce. This role partners closely with HR leaders and IT to enhance Workday functionality, evolve HR processes, and ensure our HRIS, Workday, is reliable, well‑adopted, and aligned with business needs. In addition, the role contributes to the development and maintenance of HR reporting and insights that support informed workforce decisions. This includes helping ensure global data integrity and supporting reporting. You will work directly with end users to provide training, resolve issues, and deliver practical, user‑focused solutions.
Position Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Global HR Systems & Operational Support
- Partner with the global HR team and functional leaders to gather requirements, document processes, and translate business needs into effective Workday solutions.
- Configure and support Workday functionality, including business processes, workflows, security roles, approvals, and notifications.
- Coordinate and perform system testing, including user acceptance testing, to support releases, enhancements, integrations, and new modules.
- Act as a key liaison between HR, IT, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to support ongoing system enhancements and integrations.
- Provide Tier 2 Workday support by managing service requests, troubleshooting issues, performing root cause analysis, and partnering with Tier 3 support as needed.
- Maintain system and employee data through mass updates, audits, and clean‑ups to ensure data integrity, compliance, and governance.
- Develop clear system documentation, job aids, and process guides, and deliver training to drive user adoption and effective use of Workday.
HR Metrics & Analytics
- Design, develop, and analyze HR reports, dashboards, and analytics to support workforce planning, performance management, talent and succession planning, compensation, turnover, and demographics.
- Partner with the Director, Total Rewards, to deliver presentation‑quality reporting, translating data into clear insights and trends for senior and executive leaders.
- Support the development and maintenance of global HR metrics, definitions, standards, and data governance practices.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Workday reports and dashboards aligned with the people analytics vision and Workday roadmap.
- Conduct data validation, audits, and mass data uploads and clean‑ups to ensure global data integrity and reliable reporting.
Other
- Stay current on Workday releases, features, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements aligned with the roadmap.
- Provide ad-hoc support on other HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Position Qualifications
Education and/or Professional Designation
- Completed undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience and Technical Skills/Knowledge
- 5+ years of experience working with Workday, HR Systems or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple Workday modules; depth in one or more modules and working knowledge across others.
- Experience supporting Workday configuration, testing, releases, and ongoing user support.
- Experience with Workday reporting and analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with reporting, data validation, and database management concepts.
- Experience with structured project delivery, implementation and testing methodologies.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint), with strong Excel capabilities.
