Methanex supports local skills development with Competency Assessments and Certification
Methanex partnered with the National Energy Skills Center (NESC) and the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Chamber to sponsor additional competency assessments and certification for local plant fitters and fabricators in Trinidad commencing December 2019.
The sponsorship builds on the successful competency assessments conducted in February/March of this year in which 71 local plant fitters and fabricators were successfully assessed and certified at the NESC.
NESC’s competency assessments utilize the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) system to recognize the existing competencies of individuals who lack formal training or certification.
With the additional assessments, Methanex continues to support the development of local workforce capability, while creating positive and sustainable impacts in communities around Trinidad.
