At Methanex in Dallas, we are proud of our strong culture of social responsibility and the dedication of our employees who volunteer their time in the local community.

Methanex in Dallas believes that gifts of time are as important as gifts of money. In fact, it is encouraged that each Methanex corporate donation to an organization be accompanied by personal volunteer time from employees.

In recent years, Methanex has donated time and money to projects for Camp Summit, Toys for Tots and Adopt-A-Family, World Vision (volunteer event in picture above), as well as several education and health-based charities.

In 2014, we helped to relocate Camp Summit, a "sleep-away" camp for children and adults with disabilities. Unique among organizations of this type, Camp Summit has no upper age limit and some campers have attended the camp for over 50 years. Camp Summit offers weeklong camp sessions during spring break, summer and fall, as well as weekend sessions and respite days. Campers are offered a variety of traditional camp activities in a barrier-free environment adapted to the camper's abilities.

Methanex helped Camp Summit raise funds to purchase a new property located in Paradise, Texas. This new campus requires only minor modifications to ensure accessibility and to meet the camper's special requirements. The new campus will help Camp Summit achieve its vision of becoming a leading national camp for people with disabilities, building on the organization’s already renowned staff, programs and therapeutic approach.

The Methanex in Dallas team is very proud to have helped Camp Summit make the move from a leased area of 117 acres, surrounded by urban sprawl, to an owned property of 460 acres in a quiet, rural area. Our contribution will allow the camp to expand and create a permanent home where their programs can continue to thrive and improve.

The team was also able to complete their annual work days for the camp at the new site and then had the pleasure of celebrating with Camp Summit at their Grand Opening of the new site in April 2016.
