As one of the key aspects of Responsible Care®, storage and transportation safety are highly important to Methanex and our stakeholders in the whole value chain.
In June 2018, Methanex in Shanghai was awarded as the Best New Employer for 2017/2018 by China Europe International Business School (“CEIBS”). The award recognizes Methanex’s partnership with their MBA program and active participation in their various campus activities.
In recognition of Help-the-Disabled Day in China, Methanex in Shanghai partnered with Shanghai Xuhui Local University to sponsor a city wide orienteering game that brought the Methanex team and family together with hearing-impaired students to solve a series of puzzles around the city. China celebrated its 28th annual Help-the-Disabled Day this year, which is a day dedicated to improving the welfare of the disabled and disability prevention.
On June 19, 2017, Methanex in Asia Pacific was honoured to receive a Merit Award from the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) in China for its ongoing leadership in Responsible Care.
“As one of the first AICM member companies to sign the AICM Beijing Manifesto in 2008, we were thrilled to receive the AICM Merit Award in recognition of our efforts to build a culture of Responsible Care throughout the country,” says Simon Maddren, President of Asia Pacific.
Methanex continues to promote safe and responsible methanol fuel use in China. This year the Chinese government has expanded its high-blend methanol fuel trials, and invited Methanex to deliver Responsible Care® seminars in four Chinese provinces.
