Methanex has a global network of production hubs and terminals in North and South America, New Zealand, Europe and Asia.

With a global plant reliability rate of over 95% (significantly higher than the industry standard), our methanol facilities are among the most efficient and reliable in the world. All of Methanex's production and distribution facilities are ISO 9001:2000 certified which is a globally recognized standard of quality in operations management.

*The 1.7 million tonne Atlas methanol facility is a joint venture between Methanex and BP. Methanex owns 63.1 per cent of the capacity but markets all product from the plant.

In response to growing customer demand, we have recently expanded our methanol production capacity in Trinidad and Chile. Our 1,700,000 tonne Atlas plant commenced commercial production in mid-2004 and our 840,000 tonne fourth plant in Chile commenced production in mid-2005. To serve growing demand in Asia and other major markets we plan to further increase production capacity in the near future.
