Methanex's Government and Public Affairs department responds to legislative, regulatory and political issues affecting the manufacture, marketing and use of methanol and its derivatives in our global markets.

Government and Public Affairs activities currently focus on issues related to the use of methanol in formaldehyde, wastewater treatment and as a common fuel additive. Legislative and regulatory issues also affect emerging methanol-to-energy applications such as dimethyl ether (DME), biodiesel, methanol/gasoline blending and the future development of methanol as a source of hydrogen to power fuel cells and for other industrial applications.

Our Government and Public Affairs department is located in Vancouver, Canada. The office works with a network of supporting consultants and facilities in Brussels, Santiago, Singapore and Ottawa.
