The following six Codes of Practice from the Canadian Chemical Producers' Association are examples of how companies are guided in the management of chemical products throughout six phases of their life cycle.

6. Hazardous Waste Management Code of Practice
The Hazardous Waste Management Code is intended to protect the health and safety of people and the environment through hazardous waste elimination, reduction, recycling, recovery and reuse. It relates to the handling, storage, transportation, treatment, destruction and disposal of hazardous waste, and the closure and care of disposal sites.
